i can see your point, but i plan on doing things a little different. im not keeping SOHC, and i may be going for a 5.4 shortblock. so for me to buy a blower for the engine i have now, is stupid, considering it may not even be compatable later down the road, and i rather not buy a 4000 supercharger, only to have it not usable in a few years.
when you redo the engine as a whole, and build it from the ground up. you can make sure everything works together.
if you plan on keeping your 4.6 shortblock and SOHC heads even after you decide to redo the entire thing... then i agree... but if your in the position to redo the entire engine... most people want to get ride of the 2v heads and get some more cubic inches. considering it doesnt cost that much more for it.

Its great to dream, but its even better to be happy with about 400 WHP and be looking forward to spending another 3 grand or so (shortblock and heads) for 550-600 WHP. 600 WHP is good for 10s easy, what more do you want in a street car?

I am wondering if you realise exactly how much money you are talking about wrapping up. For reference, code3 has well over TEN THOUSAND dollars in his 2v engine build. Everything for the 4v cars is more expensive, everything.

I guess all I can say is I have been there and done that, and I like I said, if I had to do it over again the vortech would have been the first thing I put on the car hands down (after gears and maybe drag radials).

Ive said this before, most people that recommend twin screws don't own, and never have, a aftermarket supercharged car. Most people that recommend a centrifugal do....

It has been proven time and time again, if your drag racing, the centri is faster. They (KB) can talk all the bull**** they want about "more FUN on the street" but the only way I have fun is if I'm the first one across the stripe.

I agree with 2000GT4.6 . However, I went the opposite route. Right now I am sitting here with a fully forged bottom end and full bolt-ons. It is great but I am already used to the speed, and it isnt fast enough. I would love to have a vortech right now but after spending the cash on the engine, I am going to have to wait..... for a while...

i would get the novi 2000. you can run 10psi on your stock block then when your ready to spend the cash on the short block you can swap the pulley and your done.
