There is a company here in colorado springs, co that sells single and twin turbo kits for the 4.6 and the single gets the 4.6 to put down between 500 and 600 hp. They have the whole kit for a few grand. I know a lot of ppl that have it done and they love it. Ppl always complain about turbo lag but since when has a 4.6 mustang ever had a low end problem?

I have an older MMFF issue that a vert 98 GT (? not sure on the year), was makin in upwards of 1200HP. The guy who built it (at BDS, blower drive systems), said its the scariest car hes ever driven. They took it out on a nascar track, the driver said that at half of the available boost they were breakin the tires loose at 160. [] Scary.

Just some advice on this if you're really wanting to build your own kit. Find a place that sells single turbo kits and get a parts list of everything that is included. Then head over to ebay and shop away. This is basically what I did, but I had a friend who has fabricated several turbo kits for various cars finish it up for me. The hardest part (according to him) is the piping. I would also add that trying to fabricate a TT setup without alot of mechanical know how would be a very bad idea. I'll email my buddy and see what I can get for you as far as a complete parts list. Also a good idea might be to buy a kit without a turbo (as many places really rip you off here) The turbo I purchased for 1100 retails for almost a 1000 more at a local speed shop. Also there are alot of good books on this sort of thing. What are your ultimate power goals?

wanna stay at 8 psi with a 25 + psi capable turbo, until a shortblock+forged internals provides the strength for it

single, medium sized turbo, not too big, not to small

i have someone that could do the custom piping, if i had all the flanges and stuff ready, and the intercooler/turbo mounted.

I'd be very very interested along with every one else on this forum to see a step by step DIY turbo kit if you did the Y pipe thing or built your own turbo and took pics

give us the cost of all the parts that you are purchasing along the way. i am interested to know if building it yourself is worth the time it takes to find everything.
