Default compression drop

Hi all, i've got an 04 mach with a p1sc procharger. its currently in the shop getting stronger rods/pistons because i want it to be safe. My question is if i drop my compression from 10.1 to say 8.5 will i make more power with boost, or just be safer?

just be safer should make less power but you can up the boost and be much safer and then you will make more power

8.6 or 9.1 would be as low as I would go. Any lower and the amount of boost you would have to run would not make up for the loss in compression.

If you changed nothing else but the rods/pistons then you would lose some HP but the lower compression will allow you to up the boost and let your tuner add more timing and make it easier to tune it safely. In the long run what your doing is the best way to go.

I'm only running 8 psi on a p1sc head unit, so i'm thinking i will be disappointed when i get it back. I would like the d1sc but that will be awhile... can i up the boost on the p1sc? from what i read they don't like high boost and the seals screw up or something..

Any lower than 9.1 and you'll be unhappy with your low end power.

You should be fine upping the boost quite a bit more than 8 psi. I do beileve the PS1c is good for well over 500 WHP.

Remeber to check the tune after changing the blower pulley.

you can easily up that boost to 12-14 psi with that unit.

So if i up the boost from 8 to 12 or 14 at 8.5:1 compression it wont make any more power than with my original 8 psi with 10:1 compression??
