Shifter gasket
I just found out that my shifter doesnt have a gasket or silicon seal around it. Is this a problem? I have driven it for atleast 3 months without it. What could happen if I leave it?

RE: Shifter gasket
Its not super serious that you dont have one, but you should. The gasket acts mainly as a shock absorber. Its not like if its not totally air tight you have a problem because thats not what the gasket is designed for. But you should have one, so I suggest you order one. Its like 10 dollars on the internet, try www.mustangtuning.com or by some high temp rv silicone and make you a gasket. But watch because you dont want any of that to fall into your open tranny.

RE: Shifter gasket
I recommend buying the gasket for two reasons:
1) It will drastically reduce drive train noise inside the car
2) I RTV'd mine and that sucker is stuck. If you ever decide to sell it or need to remove it, RTV makes it a PITA.
