Default upgrading to 3.73 gears

Mechs,

I've heard that upgrading to 3.73 gears is the way to go but could someone please tell me what's going to change after doing this upgrade. What I'm looking to do is to be able to hit 30-35 mph before needing to shift into 2nd because as it is now, I pretty much have to shift when I'm at 20-25 mph. If this upgrade will accomplish this, will it also stretch out the shift mph/limits for the higher gears too?

Thanks,

techsent

well, think about it... it's a steeper ratio, and 1st gear already is short lived in my car with stock gearing, going to a bigger gear would make it wind up even quicker

Yeah but it also gets you up to speed much faster. But it has been a year since i drove it. I will be home in 3 weeks and i will re post with what speed i shift at and how fast it can go . Well that is if i ever get out of the car long enough to get on the internet.

1st gear in the 3650 will take you up to about 40 mph i think. my question is why do you want longer gears?
