So, how do you drive? Hit redline much? Keep it under 2k rpm? Those are real questions. Don't go to redline, keep the rpm's low, lug the engine, and use Moe & Curly's Bargain gas and you'll get carbon build up.

Carbon build up at 5400 miles? Are you a granny or are you using 10 year old gas? Run to redline every once in a while.

I have an 03 mach 1 and my check engine light came on the other day. I took it to ford today and they tell me that its "carbon build up" and that they have to order some part and thats why the CE light is on. It only has 5,400 miles. Does anyone know what exactly it is and why it happened with such low miles. thanks
ya....... thats the whole point of this thread.

It would be a task just to keep it under 2k rpm while shifting all the time. Doesnt matter, im not gonna beat the hell out of it just so i dont get carbon build up. I have only had the car for 200 of those miles.

well, seafoam clears out your vacuum lines and injectors and all the fuel delivery stuff.

I dont know what carbon build up is though it happens when you dont drive your stang hard because the crap in the fuel isnt going fast enough and it sticks to the walls of the injectors or whatever...

A race a day keeps the carbon at bay hehe [&:]
