Default I might be getting a newer GT soon

Im getting tired of driving my 66 stang as a daily driver. My job sucks, but im still hoping to be able to buy a used GT around November. What year is the best to get out of 2000-2004? I dont want a 05, beacsue they too expensive still. I've been looking at some nice 01's, but i want to know your opinions. Also, i can drive a stick, but should i really get a 5 speed or a auto? I guess the 5 speed is better the power and racing. but i like doing burn outs too.

most people would recommend a 01.5 and up just because you get the hood scoup and the T-3650 tranny. I would definately get a 5 spd. where do you live?

I love my 01, and tranny wise its up to you, some people get sick of shifting, some people love it. I recomend the new edge mustangs to all my freinds that ask me what they should buy just to **** em off... (all my freinds are chevy fanatics)

Yeah., My best friend hates Fords. he's always talking bad about them. I myself im a chevy guy, but i LOVE mustangs. lol. I do love the hood scoops. They are awesome. Im guessing they're non functional though right? So is the 5 speed a good transmission then? I live in Georgia.

havent had the first problem other than needin new tires on my 03 stang. sometimes wish i had an auto though. if i were you i would save some money and get a 03 04 cobra.....CAN NOT go wrong with one, considerin that its 4v, forged, and S/Ced, who could argue with that.

+1 A 01-04 GT would be fun, but if you could get a 03-04 cobra....that would be a whole lot more fun.

The differances between the '99-early'01's and the late'01's-'04 is all cosmetic (hood scoop, blacked headlights, and different color options between the year). The biggest difference is the tranny. If you want a manual trans, get a late '01-'04 for the 3650. It's stronger than the T45, not a whole lot, but never the less. If you want an auto, it's all cosmetic differences, so it's up to you...
