Default holes in my hood

Say I decided to drill out the holes in the honeycomb of the hood scoop, and cut a hole beneath it through the hood, thus letting more cooler air in to the engine compartment. Would water be a factor here? As in, if I drove in the rain would a ton of water get in and damage my electronics? Has anyone else tried this? Or should I try to tube the air over near the filter, and if I did, would water hurt the filter?

Thanks in advance...

You probably won't see anything from it. Something has to directly divert that air towards your air filter. It may cool down your engine compartment a few degree's, collect even more dust and really serve no purpose...

I can divert it, and you're saying I need to, so that's fine, but what about water during the rain?

If you want to do that why dont you invest in the ram air system offered in many different stang magazines. They usually run about $600 to $800 dollars. You will run in trouble with water if it isnt done right.

What about it? Doesn't seem to bother Mach 1's or WRX's

If you look at it closly, you can see there is places there that capture the moisture, throws it in a pan and from there goes under the car.

that's what I'm saying, what happens with water on those cars? I don't have 600 to 800 dollars to throw away on a ram air.

Could you find a picture of an exposed ram air system? I don't see how it could catch water and still let air flow freely...

the shakers have a lip around the outside and then water is drained out of a hose toward the ground. When driving rain will not be an issue.
