What are the different ways to tell if an exhaust system is leaking? Any visual and/or abnormal hearing aids? Do the sounds differ if there was a leak in a midpipe or a catback. I just put an o/r x pipe and it is orgasmic loud. Especially past 3k rpms. I mean so loud the whole interior shakes a lil...

i used to hear a tick noise under acceleration but then it just went away. this was after i got my full exhaust put on. to check for leaks, try to tick a rag in the exhaust pipes and let it idle for a second or tow. if there is a leak, you will hear noise or air come out of the leak.

exhaust leaks can cause detonation, which will sound like a nasty rattling/gurgling.

how does it sound exactly? because some x pipes tend to have rocks-in-a-tincan sound at certain rpms

it sounds horribly loud after 3k rpms no matter what speed I'm going. I could be driving around in the parking lot and anything higher than 3k rpms, the rattling sound is horrible. maybe i should go out and take a sound clip of this [8D]
