Default whats the easiest way to install spark plugs in my 99 GT?

I just got the NGK iridium plugs for my b-day and I wanted to install them myself, the local shops all want over $100 to do it. What is the easiest way to change the plugs out, does anyone have instructions? I need to take the fuel rails off and Im not too sure how to do that. Also what should they be gapped at? i figured somewhere between .30-.35. Thanks.

Too small a gap for N/A. Check the stickies up top, I believe someone did a write up. You won't need to take the fuel rails off.

$100 bucks damn. My beer cost $7 a six pack, but the sticky's are helpful and you doing the work yourself gives you conversation for the water cooler at work

You should gap an n/a 2v at .050 on the gapper check every plug for that and the link above shows you how to do the rest, JUST MAKE SURE YOU KNOW you do not have to remove fuel rails just intake tube and make sure you blow out the spark plug wholes before removing the plug with a aircompressor to get the sand etc out.

Just do not over-torque the plugs. May strip the threads and blow the plug out later. The person that had my car before me did this and 2 months after I purchased the car I was driving down the road and the plug shot out of the block. Had to install a head insert. Not fun. Just tighten until it stops and then a little pressure and your fine.

Hmmmm, plug out of the block? You have bigger problems.

Thats the first thing I thought so I called the mustang shop close to my house and before I even got halfway through telling him what was wrong he knew exactly what happened. He said he has seen it more times than you think. I bought my car used and he said more than likely whoever had the just overtightened them. A $100 helicoil and I was on my way.

wow 100 dollars??? what psychos.. it took me like, 45 inutes, and its kind of fun

i thought the fuel rails had to be removed as well, but the boot that the plug and coil on are connected or whatever, are VERY flexible, and come apart easily

have fun, its not tough
