Default drag tires

I've been calling around at some local tires stores to get some prices on street legal drag tires. So far both the BF Goodrich G force T/A and mickey thompson e/t streets come no smaller than a 275 width for a 17 inch rim. The guys really dont want to put them on my stock mustang rims because the manufacture requires a 9-11 inch rim and the stangs are only 8. Has anyone else run into this if so how did you get around it. Would they really be that oversized if I stuffed them on a 8 inch wide rim?

Get your tires from a online store like www.tires.com or one of the other online sites. Even with shipping 99.99 percent of the time you save money.

I have 275 nittos on my stock rims, and they do bulge a bit but it isn't gonna cause any problems (not that much of a stretch).

Do you have a sams club around you with a tire center? They will pretty much mount anything on anything if you just bring it in an say put em on. I would say most tire shops would do the same thing if you just bring it in and don't make an issue out of it.

Many people are running that size tire on 8 inch rims... You should be fine.
