There's no tellin. The problem with having somebody paint your car is you kinda need to be referenced by someone. Like go with a guy who you know can do a good job because I have seen bad paint jobs because of bad preperation. Plus I'm not sure if the shops there will either do a partial job or you would want them to partially paint your car. It would seem better to fix the holes with bondo (sand it flat) seal the bondo with a primer and hold tight until you can afford a good paint job. Some guys may knock maaco but if I were not wanting to spend alot of cash I would consider them (for a temporary resolve)

Bondo sounds like a good way to go, But how much do you think about 12 holes would cost to primer and paint?

Theres a product called kitty hair which a resin with fiber glass strips in it. You could sand the area down to the fiber glass and then use that fiber glass filler and fill the wholes front and back. Then sand it smooth. Then have it primed and painted. Never done it, but that sounds like your best bet. You should go to a auto store that sells paint products for automotives. Where I used to live there was a livenes, and there is a paint mixxer there and they will recomend and tell you how to fixz your problem. They will even print out instructions.

The 03 cobra spoiler is growing on me. But it doesnt look good with the GT bumper. Since the bumper is already an off color you should buy an 03 cobra bumper and have the cobra letters filled in and then painted. Then you would have a nice looking rear of that mustang.

CarFax said there were no accidents on record for my car either, But the entire passenger side was repainted at one time. After I purchased the vehicle I noticed the rubber trim pieces were painted over. Also now my clear coat is peeling off and there is a chip from the door where I can see several layers of paint. My next purchase will be inspected w/ alot more detail.

Yeah, I'm not sure if CARFAX was accurate either, but the car has been checked out my a very close friend and 30 years mechanic and he said the car was very strong. I think the color just faded after a while and he decided to repaint it.

At the moment I'm not sure what is the least expensive but effective way to go with. I am prepping this car for resale by next year, so I don't want to spend a bunch of money on it and lose profit.

Looks like it's been wrecked.
Yep, sure looks that way. Take a magnet alone the side with the new paint. If it don't stick, thar be bondo, me hardies!

Aarghh.

Sorry, feeling a bit 'pirate' today.

Carfax obviously isn't going to be 100% accurate, the car very well could of been in an acident and not reported, and the owner repaired it.

Guys, I don't know if it's just me not wanting to believe it's been hit, but this mechanic uncle...He's just right on the money about every car out there. Not only has been a SAE mech. for 30 years, but he owns and operates 3 dealerships. He goes 3 days a week to private dealer used car auctions to bid on cars he wants for the dealership. Many of the cars he bids on in much worse conditon than my stang. He was the first guy to check it out, in fact he was the first buyer, but he backed out to let me have it. I've been to these auctions a few times with him, and he really knows his stuff. He can pin point a problem without even opening a door.

I trust him when he says it hasn't been hit. I hope the guy just honestly repainted the car for looks.

Thanks for the feedback
