Headlamp staying on?
Hey guys I just experienced something weird tonight. I started my car up at a friends house and we were going out and then I noticed the headlamp inside the car (the one inbetween the two that you can turn on and off) wasn't turning off. So I pulled into a nearby parking lot and tried starting/restarting the car, turning lights on and off, opening closing doors, and nothing seemed to work.
Even when I turned everything off the light was still on. So I drive over to a diner because my friend wanted some food (the whole time the light inside is on and it's pretty dark out). It takes 40 minutes for the light to go off. Ok so I was pretty happy that this weird incident was over, but I start the car again and it won't go off again. After I had enough I popped the fuse out, put it back in. Then when nothing else worked I popped the cap off the light bulb and, with some skills and completely burned fingers, got the bulb out.
Now has anyone heard or experienced this happening? Thanks, I'd really appreciate this since it seems pretty odd.

RE: Headlamp staying on?
Yes. That used to happpen to my 99 all the time. It only did it to me when it was really hot outside like in the mid 90s or so. It never did it at night so wasn't much of a problem but here you go. Turn the headlight switch, which dims and brightens the gauges, to the far left and to the right until it goes off. Normally, if your car inside light is off, and you switch it to the far left, you will turn the light on, being able to see inside your car. Keep switching it until the light shuts off. Hope this works, if not, I don't know what to say. If it happens during the day time, I wouldn't worry to much. I agree it is annyoing to see it in your rear view mirror but it won't kill the battery. But if it happens at night and it won't go off, smack it around a bit [sm=chairshot.gif]
