TIMING @ WOT FOR '99 4.6?/TIMING ADJUSTER SETTING?
I bought a timing adjuster from JonBeast yesterday and am ordering UDP's today. I also have the Predator.
Do any of you racers or knowledgeable guys know what the 2v 4.6 in my '99 automatic has for timing at WOT from say 3k to 6k rpm's? Do guys set the timing adjuster for 14* for a specific reason? I read that if the computer reads more than 14* initial timing it may trip a Check engine light. Is that it or has 14* proved to be the best base timing for 93 octane fuel to keep knock away? I need to determine how much timing I want to run with the adjuster and the Predator's tune which is very conservative yet I do not want to encounter knock of course. The POredator will allow a 10% increase to the timing at WOT which may not be much depending what the timing is stock. Say the timing is 15* at WOT, well the Predator set on 10% would ad 1.5* more, not much for changing from 87 to 93 octane. Thanks for any help here, mark
