Default mach 1 GT traction launch compare

it seems like when ppl are compareing the mach1 to the GT they under rate the GT alot.
if the GT had mods to equal a stock mach1s hp and torque would the GT get the same ET. alot of you guys say if you put any more power or gear in the GT you wont get no traction. but the mach1 doesnt have any prob with traction stock. why if the power is equal would the mach1 still have the addvantage.?

Well no you wouldn't see the same ET times. The Mach 1 has a much better suspension package compared to GT. They didn't just send the car to Roush to have the engine breathed on.

I disagree here. I have beaten a Mach1 before and look at my mods. They come stock with 310 FWHP which is roughly 265 rearwheel HP. I dyno'd mine at 275 RWHP a few weeks ago. I have heard a lot of people say that Mach1's 0-60 mph is about the same as a GT, but the Mach1 has a hell of a lot more push after 60 mph than a GT due to the DOHC engine. Im not sure how true this is because I have never rode in one before. Just going by hear-say on that one. I think they are really a little overrated IMO!

Well the mach1 is another underrated car from ford. It dyno's closer to 280 to the wheels putting it in the neighborhood of 330 stock. Not saying it is not possible, but the Mach deff has an advatage over a GT. You maybe a much better driver than the other guy. I have seen some pretty fast cars with some pretty sh*tty drivers.

All and all you beat it and it is a good kill!

so does anyone have any info on the suspension. why its better than the GT? i have the specs for the mach1 and GT in my hand. its the key products specs for the 2004 GT and mach1. suspension is the same except the mach1 is a half inch lower. so if the GT and mach1 where equal in power this would be a even race right? except the mach1 has 3:55 gears.

I think if I get a set of 4.10 gears I will give them a lot better of a run. Think im gonna do that soon.

I test drove a used 03 mach 1 and I couldn't feel any difference when accelerating (0-60) compared with my 00GT with the mods I have.. you can really feel the difference when you take it to higher speeds like a highway, that is when that 32v DOHC engine pulls like crazy, the suspension in the mach 1 is better than the GT and the mach1 even comes with subframe connectors, also the mach1 comes with the same brakes as the cobra (13"front11.6back Brembo) also the seats and whole interior is nicer. According to Motortrend the 99+GT accelerates from 0-60 in 5.4 sec and the Mach1 in 5.2sec but the mach can run the 1/4 in 13.4 while the GT takes 14.0sec...

i have a spec sheet and the suspension is the same. just a half inch lower and the gears are 3.55. i havent heard that they have subframes. so what you guys are saying that if the hp is the same between the 2 cars that the mach1 will still win cause its a 4v. huuum. i dont know about that. still stumps me if a GT had 310 under rated hp that it couldnt get the same time as a mach1 cause it cant hook up. subframes wont help the car out that much. i guess what im getting down too will a GT with 320hp 275 rwhp be able to run 13.2 just like the mach1 runs on a good day?

Do not forget that the GT is lighter. And if the only difference is subframes then who cares, they are cheap. If you can afford to get a GT to 310 Flywheel HP then you can afford a set of cheap *** subframe connectors

From the Ford website:

Curb wieght:
Mach 1 : 3469
GT: 3347
