Default Questions about differnet Fuel

So I just got my first Mustang. Since I have had it everytime I fill up the tank I only use premium. Is this a good idea or am I just wasting and extra 4-5 bux.

If the car is stock, your wasting your money. If you have some sort of forced induction or bumped timing, then you need it. Check the stickys there is a whole post about it.

it actually isnt good for your car if ur stock to run premium. at least run 89. 87 would be ur best bet.

Run the lowest octane you can without the car "pinging" or "knocking". A higher octane will not hurt your car, you'll just spend more on fuel than you need to. I stick with name brand gas stations. Yeah the gas probably all comes from the same refineries, but I just feel a little better about filling up at Chevron than I do the local no-name gas and beer joint on the corner.

tell me about it. Damn that is rough. The price for premium where in at right now is about 2.89 . I am only spending about 3-4 more bux to getthe premium so i figure its worth it. I wish gas would go back to when it was under a buck a gallon. [:@]
