Default FRPP gears actually made by motive

Hey, I just had my 4.10s put in( love them by the way, in a 3650 its perfect)

Anyways, the guy at the shop said that certain part # FRPP gears are actually made by motive gear.
He says on an actual ford gear there will be a part # stamped at the end of the pinion, on a motive made ford gear there will be numbers engraved on the pinion gear, along with the Ford Racing emblem engraved on the Ring gear.

I got mine from 50resto.com

When looking at certain gears he had there, what he said seemed to be true, there are boxes that also differ. One box style has a picture of a red 94-98 packing the front wheels. and says Ford Racing on the box. The other style box's simply just have a picture of a ring and pinion and say Ring and Pinion set, and something about Factory parts that win...

Anything to this? Conspiracy maybe....

Yeah, I did a search before I bought my 4.10's and Ford uses 2 suppliers, Motive being one. I have a touch of whine between 40 and 50 MPH but not enough to even mention. The radio on low volume drowns it out. I had 3.73's put into an '82 Vette that came with 2.72's and an OD automatic that in OD had a 1.90 ratio, great for cruising but terrible for speed quick and they had a whistle like the Motives I have and they never gave me trouble. As was said a good installer will get them in without excessive whine. mark

hmm... well, I've babied mine around for a little bit just in case there is anything to breaking in gears, and so far there is no whine at all.

Hang em High Performance in Somerset KY put mine in. If anyone is close to the area then I would definitely recommend them.

Here are some pics of the different boxes:
One box has a picture of a red 94- 98 car packing the front wheels.
The other just has a picture of a Ring and Pinion.

The Motive Made:
