Default 5W-20 oil in AZ?

I know the factory says to put 5W-20 in but its so hot in AZ I was thinking of putting something thicker in like 10W-30...any advice???

do you use synthetic if so i bleave 5-20 is fine you can even use 5-30

remember first # is the cold start ie. mornings and such..second number is the viscocity at operating temperature, i know what u mean. same thing here in south texas..my book says for stang 96 gt auto is 10 w30 but i go ahead one number higher so i add 10w40 high mileage..works real good. never had probs with it, i wanna go 20w40 but i think thats too thick for early starts in the morning and dont wanna ****ed up the oil pump
