Well my buddy and i just took his 2003 mustang gt through a weigh station out of curiosity and i was blown away by the results. From what i read, i thought these cars with a 170 pound driver were like 3670 pound car. Well get this the lady tells us the weight, we subtract what i weigh and what my friends weighs and the car came out to be 3351 pounds. Well needless to say i think the 4000 lbs cobra might be a lie... anyone else have any input on this?????

thats how much they weigh is 3200-3300 lbs. im not surprised. The the new shelbys weigh ~4000 lbs.

you also have to figure out the cobra has a bigger engine which weighs more and the IRS on the cobra is pretty heavy also.....

The registration for my '99 auto convertible says 3350 so it might nweigh a bit more than that nif the coupe is that much. mark

convertibles weigh more than coupes because of the increased amount of metal in the structure to make up for the fact that you don't have a roof over your head adding strength,

This correct. I do have a whole bunch of stuff underneath which is only on convertible. Mine weights about 3450lbs without driver, dog and old panties!

Wait wtf? I thought my Vette wieghed 3200 Lbs... Theres no weight my 2000 mustang and my 2000 Vette weight anywhere CLOSE to one another. I can feel the extra weight when I ride in the Mustang compared to the Vette, and its dramatic....
