URGENT! brake help

Default URGENT! brake help

i am replacing the rear brake pads on my 01 mustang GT. and me and my brother have tried everything but cant make the piston that pushes on the pads retract so that we can fit the new pads in. please i need help quick my car is on jack stands right now.

you have to TWIST the piston in with a special tool. check out a local auto parts store, they let u borrow it.

I haven`t done my rear brakes yet, but I know you need to turn the piston and push it back in. I`ve been told you need needle nose pliers to do it and its pretty easy. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Needle nose pliers can work in a pinch, but there is a tool made to fit into the two small grooves to turn them back... It attaches to a ratchet and you have to push while you turn.
