Default 02-04 vs 05+

how do the 02-04 mustangs compare to the new 05+ mustangs? i think the 0-60 time is about 3 10ths slower. how much moding would it take to beat an 05? so in the end would it be a good idea to save some money buy getting an 02-04 mustang and having money left to customize it?

the 05+ really respond well to mods. but the late models are lighter. its all up to you and what u wanna spend. if i had the money id say screw em both and id have a terminator sittin in my driveway.

hellz ya, but between the both, I would prefer a 99-04. i just like the way they look a lot more. I have a 65 couoe sittin in my garage that will fill my nostalgic desires.

I'm not a huge fan of the new body style's personally. For a 99-04 to beat a 05 I would say it would probably need near full bolt-ons. I would get a 99-04 gt, but if you are willing to spend 20k or more, look around for a 03/04 cobra.

I have basically intake/exhaust changes on my '03 and can pull away from the new Stangs (at least the 2 I've encountered at a stop light). I haven't upgraded the midpipe, headers, or plenum/TB, yet.

Yea man I have some bolt-ons like new TB/Plenum, Catted H-pipe, UD Pulleys, CAI and I walk away from near stock 05+ GTs. In fact, my friend has bought the first GT/CS to be sold in the state of LA. He has put an o/r h-pipe with flows on it, and a K&N filter and I walk him easy. We raced from a stop, 20mph and 50mph. Also, I dont have headers, a custom tune, or any other bolt on. I'm also running the stock 3.27 gears as well so not much on my car lol
