I'm not disagreeing with you, but are you saying that a 2V with full bolt ons will be pushing 300 rwhp? In your own words, the LS1 puts down 280-300, but a GT with gears, dr's and full bolt ons will beat 'em. I don't think bolt ons would add that kinda power (in the neighborhood of 55-75 rwhp total)
With that said, looking at your list of mods I'm guessing you have first hand experience, whereas I know I don't.

I think you must be racing some terrible drivers in the camaros and new GTs. Espcially if its a LS1 style camaro/trans am.
BTW, all it takes to beat a LS1 from a stop is full boltons, gears, and some drag radials. From a roll it will be fairly close, with cams making you the winner here as well.
BTW, figure probably 10 WHP from your exhaust mods and maybe 5-6 WHP from your CAI. Probably 240-245 WHP total. For reference, a bone stock LS1 puts down between 280 and 300 typically.

You don't need identical RWHP to win though. Having a more agressive gearset and some drag raidals will make a huge difference, espcially on the street.
Here is a vid between my bud and me when the car was at full boltons/gears/cams. Keep in mind that I have/had a 3.73 gearset here, while most people that are gonna stay n/a run a 4.10 gearset (will make a small difference).

If you notice, one of the roll runs he was right with me the entire way. This is me not hitting my shifts perfectly (and not taking advtantage of the cams up top). Basically I somehow managed to short shift into 2nd and 3rd gear by about 3-400 RPM, where the cams were making all the power.
Keep in mind his car is a 2.73 rear gear'd auto with t tops. Before the cams I was getting beat from a roll by 6spd LS1s with the 3.45 or whatever rear gear ratio, but not the 2.73 cars. I could still get em pretty bad from a stop.
Its very possible to beat a LS1 car with a boltons 2v 4.6. Its not possible to beat a properly driven one with just a midpipe/catback and a CAI.
