4.10 vs 3.73 5spd `02 gt
car is relatively stock besides a spec stage 3 clutch that should be able to handle my future mods.
my next step is gears, gears, gears!
i cant wait to get them installed, but i want to know if i will have more fun with 4.10s.
doing town and highway driving. but about 70% of the time im in town.
i will be getting a 2nd vehicle, so cruisin down the highway at a little higher rpm is not going to be a big deal for me.
how much torque do you think i would get on a 3.73 or 4.10?
also, waht brand would you recommend? FRPP or Motive???
(my car is manual 5 speed, and i want it to scream!)
im also thinking of throwing a posi in there. is my car 8.8"?????
any other brand recommendations without breaking the bank too much?
i need thoughts on that too!!
please make your responses worth my time to read! Thanks!!

Both sets of gears will wake up your car alot. The 4.10's will feel faster but it is all prefference. there is not a very big difference in gas mileage or drivability between the two gears. To your other questions, yes you have an 8.8 and you wont actually gain any torque with the gears but the car will feel much faster. Either way you will fall in love with your car all over again.

iff your gonna add a supercharger at some point in time go with the 3.73 there is very little noticable difference compared to 4.10.

I have a Vortech s/c with 4.10 gears and I wouldn't want it any other way. Plenty of other people see it that way to. P.S. I had 3.90's in there with the s/c and took them out for the 4.10's. 3.73's wouldn't even be an option for me.

Thats not missinformation almost every person would agree with it. not saying it cant be done its just not as good of an option. The 4.10 are not nessesary for a s/c car and you travel through gears too fast adding no speed in the 1/4. With a centri charger you can use them fine because you dont reach full boost untill high rpms the kennebell on the other had reaches full boost at 1500 rpms. the roots/screw charger go with 3.73
