Default is it even worth the swap???

Is it even worth swapping a 97 mark vIII dohc 32v engine into a 99 gt????? i know its dual cam and its basically the same thing as a 98 cobra engine just different Intake and then cams right???????just cuious if it is even worth the head ache will you even get enough of a performance gain to spend the money??? but after you change the cams and manifold on the mark VIII to get the 300 hp you couldve just bought a 99-01 cobra swap with 320hp which would ultimately be the best right (besides a 03-04)???????

yea im just curious what would be the best way to get a 4v whether it be go that route or the route of 99-01 cobra or just use the forged 2v block i am building and bolt on some 4v heads if bolting of 4v heads to my block would work without needing a new harness or ecu i would definately go that route but noone seems to know if its possible and what all it takes

Airextreme has a OBD1 motor I think you will have it better than him, but you still have all the idiosyncrcies of puting a different motor in your car (2v<4v) CPU,Wiring, etc

The only problem with switching to the mark VIII engine is that it uses the series B heads. It would be better to swap to a 99-01 cobra engine because they use the tumble port head but of course the 99-01 is going to be more expensive and harder to find. It is worth the swap from a 2v to a 4v? I would think so, you can go light years further with a 4v. I just don't know if the Mark VIII engine is the absoulet best platform to start with. Not that it's the worst. I would have to do some checking but I'm not sure if the mark VIII used the forged crank either. Not that it's a big deal those rods will buckle before anything else does.

start with a 5.4 Lincoln Navigator 4V engine. You'll be putting down some serious numbers.
