third member noise
Hey all, Just purchased my 01 GT mid July with 22k miles. I have a whining noise coming from rear. I have talked to previous owner and he said it has done that since driving off show room floor. Just haven't kept up with all the inovations the past 11 years, was busy with my 69 Fairlane. Is this normal? If so, what kind of gear is in the rear. Fully loaded except dr. window lockout. Yes it does have tracion control. First gear shift to second is,,,, well violent and I Love It! Will have more questions later.

It -shouldn't- whine noticably while driving... any whining you are hearing is probably coming from the transmission, assuming it's a 5spd. My rear is dead silent (stock, too), but my transmission is a whiny little ***** [8D]
