Default Diablosport tune - Whooooo!

I just installed my Diablosport tune on my car, and the shifts are definately faster, with none of the "lag" I used to feel. As an added bonus, I turned off the rear 02 sensors, so no more check engine light!

I have just one question for those of you with tuners though... the gas stations in my area only sell up to 92 octane fuel. Do I need to adjust my timing or what? The instructions say that for 91 octane you need to set the retard 10%... so do I set it 5% for 92 octane or just leave it?

Sorry i have a question.. Why do you have to run higher octane with tunes?

Becuase it leans out the car and advances the timing. Thats how it makes more power. It needs a higher octaine fuel to run hotter.

If you run lower octaine fuel you risk detonation (look it up becuase the dictionary will explain it better than one of my rants will lmao!)

I only get 92 up here too. I have mine advanced 5% with no problems. Just go into your real time data logging and make sure that when you hit the throttle and youre up at redline you're not running more than 30' advanced. You should be about 10' to 15' advanced at idle.

Also. Lean out the car 2% too. Stupid Diablo sport runs their tuns too rich. We hooked a digital pro a/f gauge up to my car and the stock setting were too rich. My car ran just fine without the tune as far as a/f goes but when we put it on it was too rich. Just listen for knocking and pinging. If you get that and lugging then retard the timing by 1% untill you stop having that problem.

Set the tune for the 91 octane and run the 92 octane. 92 is higher than 91, so a 91 octane tune isn't gonna hurt anything.

You can run higher octane in your tank than your tune is set for, just not lower.

BTW, I would not mess with the fuel tables much. It is unlikely you will get much out of it, but without a wideband O2 sensor you risk leaning the car out too much. It probably won't hurt anything being n/a with a basically stock setup, but it will still run hotter etc.
