i want to get a catback system for my 03 GT and i was wondering what would be the best way. I could purchase a whole system off the net or a mag and then have it installed..or should i get custom exhaust at a muffler shop and just purchase mufflers...anybody have any thoughts?

<FONT size=2>I would just buy a cat-back off of the internet. Check Ebay-motors....you can usually find excellent deals on brand new cat-back systems. Tons of Mustang Parts on there. You can install it yourself, should bolt right up if you get the right system. You just need a little patience, mechanical ability, and some simple tools. So save the money that you would've paid for intallation and get some more parts!<IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0"></FONT>

what he said. a cat back will give you mandrel bent pipes and better mufflers. alltogether a better deal than just new mufflers. and if u buy from ebay its not that much more.</P>

I'd get something off the net, unless you have some people who can get you good deals at shops on what you are looking for.<edited><editID>GSXRIntensity</editID><editDate>37930.7804513889</editDate></edited>

yes, custom pipes would be more expensive. i didn't realize thats what you were considering. i thought you just meant getting high flow mufflers installed on your stock setup.</P>

run straight piped.. it sounds nice on the 4.6 and you will get the most gains out of it. mufflers are a joke and overratted.

How much more HP if I lost my Flowmaster mufflers and got a custom 3 inch tube all the way to the rear with no mufflers. Also, for everyday driving is it to loud?

Probably not enough to make any difference, but don't take my word for it.
