Default 3:73 from 3:27's Is it worth the change?

I currently have 3:27's on my 97 GT. They came like that from the factory. Yes I have had my cover off and my axles out already. I chalked it and evrything and yes it says Ford 327 on the pinion gear! I would like to put in 3:73's but I don't know if it will be worth the time or effort? I really don't want 4:10's because I have 40 series with an O/R x-pipe and it's loud enough as it is on the highway. Any suggestions if I should be happy with my 3:27's and spend the dough on engine upgrades? I appreciate it.

from 3.73s to 4.10s will not be big of a difference in rpms which in turn means that the loudness wont be much a difference either....

i have 3:73's and i definitely felt an improvement, but im upgrading to 4:10's. for me the 373's just werent enough, i rode in an 04 stock with 4:10's and his had a bit more pull off the line than mine did. so do some research, most people on the forums will tell ya to go with 4:10's.

If "I" were to do it all over again, which I was in the same situation as you, going from 3.27's to 3.73's, I would get 4.10's... and I would still get plenty of good gas mileage with them.

O.K. 4:10's it is. I have only put 1300miles on my car this year, so not really worried about the gas mileage. Although I never fill the tank more than half way because it handles terrible when you do and screws up my sweet stance. So I may have to may an extra trip or two to the pump, but that's like once every two weeks...lol
