Default gotta problem

ok so the last time i went to the track my girlfiend and a couple of my friends said that they saw black smoke puffin out the tailpipes when id shift to second and third. and it was only on like two runs. i made sure to let the car cool off for about twenty minutes after each run. im thinkin the clutch but any clues as to what it coulda been?????

yea its a turbo diesel. but i did race a zo6, he got me by a car lenght. by the way this is only and 1/8 mile track.

r they 100% sure it was black smoke and not white smoke that kinda looked black in a weird light or something, i dont think ive ever heard of a gas engine putting out black smoke

they all said it was a puff of black smoke....i was kinda worried cuz my car never acts up.....the guy i bought it from babyed the damn thing since the day he bought it, and i really dont even hammer on it that bad either. but yea thats what they said, is was for sure black.

Usually when you have black smoke coming out, it's running rich. I noticed it's got a diablsport tune, sorry to hear that, but you might check the A/F ratio to make sure it's right.

Clutch wouldn't cause smoke out the tail pipes.

yea well uum im just tryin to figure out what could have been the problem, and yea i know the diablosport tuner ****in sux....i ordered an sct. that was honestly one thing i didnt research on and i didnt, i just took peoples opinions, and i got the **** end of the stick. any other possibilities

What's so bad about the Diablo Tuner, I haven't had any problems. Anyway, could the black "smoke" just have been some dirt or something kicking up off of the track when you shifted, if the tires chirped?

Out the tail pipe.......

Black Smoke = unburned fuel

White Smoke = oil in the combustion chamber
