what is the difference
...between a cobra engine and the 32 valve engine from a lincoln ,,,,is it the same basic platform , i ask because i found one for 200 at the local yard, from a car with rear end damage.

RE: what is the difference
There are 2 different blocks the 4 valves were built on, the teksid and windsor. I would assume the Lincoln motor is the Windsor block. I am also 95% sure that it does not have a forged bottom end like the 03-04 cobras do. But I do think it is identical to the Mach 1 block. I think the 99-01 cobras came with the Teksid block which is supposedly better and stronger then the windsor block. I would get it and then buy the forged assembly and throw it in there, you would have a pretty nice setup then.

RE: what is the difference
im pretty sure all of the svt cobras had hand built engines by the svt team, and they do have fordged internals, and probably defferent heads and such, they probably arnt even really close to being the same engine other than their displacement

FFS, only the 03-04s have forged internals.

now the stats for the cobra engine
- 4,601 cc 4.6 liters 8 V front engine with 90.2 mm bore, 90 mm stroke, 9.9 compression ratio, double overhead cam and four valves per cylinder

RE: what is the difference
cobras come with forged cranks along with the mach 1, then cobra began to forge the entire rotation assembly for the terminator. and the mach 1's only have forged cranks in the manuals......just thought id throw that in there.[8D]
