Hello all - I have a 2003 GT (Auto), and am getting pretty close to making the jump into a supercharger. The primary concern I have is if the 4.10's are too much gear to use with a S/C. Anyone use or have tried to use this configuration?

I think it is trueblue or something like that has 4.10s running a 9psi KB blower. He said it's real fun on the street but on the strip he just spins and if he didn't, he'd run out of 4th gear before the end. Keep in mind though that you could go to a taller tire (lets use a 28 instead of the 25.6 diameter that's the stock tires), if you notice that the gear is too much for your purposes. Running a 28 in diameter drag radial or slick in the back instead of a 25.6 in diameter street tire means that your gear ratio would drop from the 4.10, to a 3.75. You will probably want to have adjustable lower control arms then to make sure you don't squat down on the tire.

The two things that determine what gear ratio you should go with is power, and use (ie speed you want the most power or torque).

if it's a centrifugal, i'd say go with the 4.10s. i think bicketybam was running 4.10s with his vortech and had no problems. i'm running 3.73s and want to jump to 4.10s.

I'd say stick with 3.73. You want to be able to shift at higher rpms to get the most out of the SC. If you get 4.10's, you're shifting sooner and not getting the benefit from the boost of the SC.

I have 4.10s and a Centri SC.. Once I got a good set of DRs I got no issues at all..

with the kinda power you have, i find that hard to beleive. you must have great roads where you are at.

accually this is true every realative of mine that comes to my house says that once they hit wisconsin they roads are awesome. I don't know about some of them but, most of them are good.
