I'm pretty disappointed with my car.
Yeah, that's kind of what I figured. Sounds good though i bet. Did you have to send the heads & cams in on a core charge?

Yeah, $9,000 later...

No dude, that's the crazy part. The mongoose doens't need a tune. It comes pre tuned by this dude named Tim who has I guess tuned over 2000 mustangs. F'n crazy I know.

I don't understand the $9,000 comment....

At any rate, yes, I am aware of the mongoose kit, and know who Tim Barth is and am familiar with MPH. What I meant was, it's all in the tune. You said something about a s/c setup being catastrophic and I was simply meaning that with a good tune, a s/c is not harmful at all.
$9000 for heads, intake, cams, SC..all that stuff. I did just call them though and you are supposed to run it through the dyno after you finish just to make sure. $4,000 for that set up. If I go with a local tuner I'd spend $3,500. Probably worth the extra $500.

i cannot wait til this thing is on my car. its all gonna be happening over winter break i think...i seriously cannot wait. i think its gonna be worth every penny. im just a little worried about traction. and by a little...i mean a lot.
Spend the cash on some full length subframe connectors and you will not be disappointed. It is truly amazing what they do for traction. You'll need more help in the traction department but they are a great start.

The heads for my 2000 run $2000 with a core charge of $300. So if you want to keep your heads it costs you $300, which is probably worth it in the long run. That way you can return it to stock & sell the heads.

Oh i getcha. Where were you looking at getting your head work done? My opinion still is to get into boost as fast as possible. I don't agree that you should boost at all until the bottom end is built. Your weakest link is your rods and those are going to be good till about 450hp. Especially if you don't have any supporting mods I don't think your going to have that problem yet. It's not a bad idea to search around for a used kit and use the saved money for some supporting mods. Just be carefully when purchasing something like that used. I have a friend that bought a used supercharger from someone and like 2-3months later the rotors blew up and took out the case.

My friend who posts over Stangnet (ambo) just added the Mongoose kit to his basically stock 00 GT and now has a fun and reliable 350rwhp... now he will add the little bolt ons as needed. Adding the supercharger first will actually save you money in the long run since you won't be tempted to buy parts you will have to sell later like pulleys etc...

Not to hijack the thread but I really could not agree more with droptoppony. The SHM book is a must for anyone who has any interest in 4.6!!! I seriously couldn't tell you the difference between my a$$ and a hole in the ground when it came to 4.6 before I bought that book.
