Gas Smell Insside (am I that retarded)
Driving to school this morning I smelt (?) it one time, and on the way home a couple hours later, I smelt (again ?) it twice more.
As I was driving, I thought maybe it was while I was really low RPM's in 5th and was caused while accelerating, but that did'nt hold true when I tested it. I also thought, hell, maybe since I was so tired last night, when I finished pumping gas I just left it wide open, and perhaps that could be the smell of gas.
I got home, looked around, and sure enough my cap was hangning out, but the fuel door was closed.
My question is, Could having the tank unsealed cause the inside of the car to become gas odered?
If so, cool, it's fixed cause I am retarded. If not, what else could it be?

Did you drive around with your windows opened? I'm sure leaving the gas tank was your only problem. The smell should be gone in a couple of days. Unless you have O/R midpipe

well, i have an o/r midpipe, but ive had it for 1 1/2 years now and not smelled gas like this..lol
and i left the cars windows up overnight, but didnt smell it except for on 3 seperate occasions, and they wre just while i was driving, not really the whole time, nor after i just started the car..
hopefully it was just leaving the cap undone,, thats actuallly the first time ive ever done that in about 5 years with the car

Inspect your fuel line in the engine bay. Mine started smelling like fuel, sure enough in the engine bay the fuel line had split and had started spraying fuel, getting progressively worse. I replaced that section of the line.
