Default Back from the desert!!!!!

Well I got back about 3 days ago. I knew I was smoking and burning oil when I was home on leave so when I got here I did a compression test and a leak detection test. All of the cyl read 160ft lbs except #3 which read 90ft lbs[:@]. I put a little oil on the piston and it read 160ft lbs[:@]. Damn piston rings. Then I pressurised the cyl and was able to hear the air coming out of the PCV system [:@]. That confirmed it damn piston rings. So it looks like I'll be calling VT engines tomorrow.

Already started the teardown when I finish I will try to do a nice write up on pulling the engine and reinstalling a new one.

All in all it is great to be home.

Thanks

Im geting the Vt GT "SR" shortblock with flat top pistons (11.2 compression ratio) and VT stage II cams. I will be porting and polishing my heads while I'm waiting for the shortblock. Oh and I'm gonna put a cool blue bottle in the trunk. I hope the cobra's can get used to looking at my tail lights.
