Default Diablo Tune and LCA's put to strip

well ill make it somewhat short.... my best et was the same at 13.9.... except my 60's on avg were worse about 2.18-2.3's before today they were all usually about 2.0-2.15ish. but i gained about 2-3 mph on avg. it ranged from 100-101.4... not spinning either. my old mphs hovered around 98-99. so it seems like the diablo tuner held up its end of the bargain but my tires are too ****ty to hook and the lca's couldnt make up for pitiful rubber. that's what i see at least. seems like the lca's dont do a lot in a straight line, but make the car handle and feel stiffer and planted when goin in the twisties. oh well, drag radials or slicks are gonna come real soon here and it should be a LOT better because the mph is there for a lot faster times

Good stuff man. Better rubber will definitely help you out.

I would definatly hit a dyno shop and pay the 35~ bucks for a couple runs. Do one with the stock program and one with the diablo. I am definatly not convinced that any of the handhelds will provide much if any power unless custom tuned.

The MPH could be coming from the worse launch as well. I have seen people have a higher 60' and gain a MPH or two.

but all of my runs were 100+ tonight and that was with a few 2.14-2.18 60' and I have had the same 60's off the tune and trapped about 98-99. i was gonna take the tune off at the track and see but i didnt really have the time.

Hmm.

I guess it probably did help, but I would love to see ya run 2 back to back with the tune on and off (with a cool down time of course).

Good time anyways when you break into the 13's with the 2v and over 100mph. Custom tune is the way to go. I had the Predator and even added a STEEDA Adjustable Timing Device with 6* on top of the Predator and that helped a lot. The timing device is the poor mans tuner. Selling mine now. I got a custom tune from Brenspeed and what a difference. Not sure it's all good as I can't hook my 315's now! More power is being made. Mark

when i go back in a few weeks with stickys ill make sure to do back to back runs on and off the tune... most everyone i knew was having some sort of traction problem that wasnt on slicks. and i was letting my car cool during the best period of the night and then a guy blew oil all over lane 2 so they shut it down and i didnt have a run for a long period of time and prolly the best conditions... then dew started to pop up everywhere and it just got worse

it ranged from 100-101.4... not spinning either. my old mphs hovered around 98-99. so it seems like the diablo tuner held up its end of the bargain but my tires are too ****ty to hook and the lca's couldnt make up for pitiful rubber.
You said 100-101.4 not spinning, and then say your tires can't hook! So you were spinning!

Your trap speed only went up because you were spinning more. I wouldn't put any faith in the Diablo Tune actually giving you the MPH gains you saw.

The DS tuner is good for smoothing out some of the Mustang's rough edges, but it doesn't really add any hp at all. I don't think it will make much of a difference on its own.

no... i had no traction when i really tried to launch so i just bogged it instead of spinning... i have like 3 videos ill show u later when i have time. i was bogging not spinning off the line and still running over 100 all the time. because everytime i spun it was worse in every category....
