Get the heads from a junk yard off a 99 or 01 cobra. Then port and polish those nice 4v's.

That would be a good idea. 2V heads can't touch 4V's.....

hmmm... you wanna pony up the extra $500 for the VT heads? Or the extra $700 for MPH heads? nah, me neither... I'll look, but I'm not real enthusiastic about paying a third more for what's basically the same part.
I did lots of research before i purchased my VT heads and i suggest you do the same. Nothing worse then having to pull up an old thread and say i told you so when you make a new thread bitching about your brand new Patriot heads burn oil.

Good luck finding those heads in a junk yard and if you do make sure you get everything else like intake/cams/timing equipment/timing cover etc or else they won't work on your car.

I looked a while back at getting 4V heads, and the total cost (confirmed by one of my friends that used to work at Fordspeed, yeah THAT Fordspeed) would be almost as much as just buying a 4V motor outright. The whole front dress has to be changed (heads, timing chain, idlers, all that). Not only that, I've ALREADY BEATEN a '99 with mine... I mean, I'm betting it was mostly because the guy couldn't drive, but hey, a win's a win, right? Not to mention that the early 4V heads aren't much to write home about to begin with... so I'll stick with my 2V until I can afford a Terminator... or maybe I'll just got with a 5.0 stroker (that's 305 just in case anyone's read the motor thread). That'll be a convo for another day though. I was talking to VT, and their heads aren't THAT bad... especially when it comes down to replacing heads multiple times. Though I'm not paying ANYONE to do my heads for me... one of the perks of being around a bunch of motorheads all the time. Anyway, thanks for the input!

Update: My VT Stage II's are on their way >hangs head for being stupid< droptop, thanks for the well-deserved kick to the fourth point of contact. I'm getting giggly, just thinking about the new heads and matching cams going in, along with some other minor stuff (injectors, gear, etc)... lil pony run FAST ya? :-D
