Default 01 GT, slight bog down problem

Hello, Im new to these forums . Okay, I have a 01 GT that I bought used about 3 months ago. The car had 1 pervious owner but I have noticed many things about the car that he had changed / taken out. He had the car built up obviously as I can tell where gauges were installed n what not and then removed many things when he sold it to the dealer.

Now when I test drove the car it ran great (as usual) but a few weeks after purchase I noticed a few problems. I took the car in to find out what was going on as it would miss a lot, turns out the #6 plug was shot, so I just had all 8 replaced. They also replaced the vacuum hose as it was cut in half (I assume a mod was here), put in a new fuel filter, oil change...pretty much a full tune up. BUT...Im still having a bog down problem when I hammer on the gas. Its like when I hit it, it bogs.......then you feel it kick in and then it goes? It didnt do that on the test drives and the thing got up and went like it should.

Now Im somewhat of a newb and Im not really sure what I should check out. Now my fuel gauge wont read my gas amount correctly and sometimes I have to hit the gas to start the car. So Im wondering, could the problem lie within the fuel system? Gas pump, the lines? What would your best guess be?

Im also looking at doing a few bolt on mods to the car. I have a new (not installed) K&N FIPK and Im looking at buying a C&L Plenum with a BBK 75mm Throttle Body. I was also told to look into getting 3.73 Gears as well (though Im not sure whats in the car since the guy changed some stuff). Im also looking at replacing the aftermarket exhaust he has on the car, its all dinged up n what not and Im looking at going with the whole Magnaflow pipes, cats and muffler setup.

If you need anymore info please ask as Id really like to get this taken car of as its getting really annoying and Im worried that running it like this could possibly cause some damage? Well, thats just the luck I have lol.

THanks

Theres a ton of things it could be. Maybe he has bigger injectors installed or maybe its already got a bigger throttle body then its supposed to be. I think 75mm is kinda big on a stock set up. He could also have chipped it or had it tuned and it might be running lean. My car requires me to push the gas when Im starting it from time to time because the flash program I put in it caused it to run really lean. It sounds to me like yer getting too much fuel and not enought air. Maybe the MAF sensor is jacked up. I would take it to someone who knows whats up. If you have a friend that has a stang like yours, see if you can remove his maf and use it to see if its the bad part for troubleshooting purposes. Try it with multiple parts if able too. GL on getting yer ride fixed.

After you get all that checked out look into 4.10 gears instead of the 3.73. Ive read alot on these forums that there are people unhappy with the 3.73.

I just installed 4.10 and I love them, I couldnt imagine getting anything longer than 4.10... or shorter for that matter.

Alright, Ill look into them. Just sold some stuff on ebay so Im goint to get some of my Magnaflow exhaust system ordered and probably get the plenum / tbody ordered. Then Ill need the rest to pay off a credit card and pay the dude to find out what the hell is up with my car .

I cant wait to get everything done, should be fun. BTW, what 4.10 gears are you using?

Im using Ford Racing gears. I bought them mainly because they come with the pinion nut, pinion shims and crush sleeve. Some of the other kits I saw Like richmond didnt list if they came with those parts. Also I heard Richmond among others "whine" when installed. Not sure if Thats true.

I bought My gears from MustangTuning.com www.mustangtuning.com

Think they were $150.00 with free shipping. Install was aroun $210.00 but from what I hear thats rare to get it installed that cheap. Also... youll need carrier shims. The two I had to buy after they measured were about $20.00 a piece. All together almost it was a $400 shot.
