Default SCT question

I know a guy who has an SCT and will sell it to me cheap. I have a couple questions though:

First, his car was a 5 speed and mine is an auto, and I think I read the 5 speed tunes won't work on autos. Can I run it w/o a tune and just make my own adjustments?

Second, can you buy tunes over the internet and connect the tuner to the computer? If so, how much are they generally?

The SCT will work w/ the auto. I have a man tran & the tuner has the options in its menu for adjusting the Auto shift points & stuff. If you know this guy then have him hook it up to your car & see if the options are there. Remember he has to return the car last tuned w/ it BACK TO STOCK before it will tune another car.

I know the TUNER works on autos, I was just wondering if the TUNES did. I read somewhere that the tunes are different for mannys and autos. Also, where can you buy tunes online that are good, and what do they usually cost?

Tunes will be different for eveyone's cars. Especially depending on mods and such.

1. Make sure his car it returned to stock
2. Go to a dealer and have him properly dynotune it.
3. If not wanting the dyno tune, then it's your choice to have tunes sent to you.
I've heard a lot of people going to www.brenspeed.com for the tunes. Go on there website and give them a call. They'll need to know certain things about your setup and you can figure that out after you contact them, what they need.
