in the last video race, vs the gt, which tires did you have on? did your traction correct with the radials?

and the ls1 race.. is that the same car as a ss?

im not doubting the power of the vortech. but does it kick in off the launches? so say im droppin into 1st from a dig at like 3500rpms, will it launch powerfully (with the radials) beeing fed by the vt? which is the best vortech out? i notice different versions- is it just the noise levels?

Not to "Nut swing," or sound like I'm teaming up here, but c'mon...

No offense, but do you honestly think you're not going to notice an extra 100+ horsepower?? That's f-ckin nuts to think otherwise...

Personally, I'm going the Vortech route.. I've had one before, and I'll have one again. Power comes on almost immediately, and it lasts through the power band for the most part.. Although, this time I'm going to Dyno tune it, instead of "Seat of the Pants," tune it, like I did when I was 19...

KB isn't the only S/Cer out there... Some on here tend to think so though..

In the last vid I had my nittos on. Bascially we were on a hill, the tires were cold (been sitting at the dyno shop chatting with em for an hour plus) and I tried to launch it way to hard for being on the street. I was used to having 280 WHP, and this was the first WOT from a stop I had tried the car out on. Blew the tires off all the way thru 1st gear

All LS1 cars are "the same" as a SS. The SS package is a joke (at least from a power/drag racing POV), ask any of the LS1 guys, they all dyno and run about the same. BTW, you should see me race him from a dig or slow roll. On the video there I was basically putting him away and then getting off it. From a dig or slow roll it is simply utter murder, never see him again.

My car launches real hard now. Thats one of the advantages of a vortech, it doesn't make a crapton of torque at 1500 RPM and blow the tires off. But either blower you can launch pretty hard, its all in your technique and practice. Like I said, that was literally the first time the car was WOT on the street from a stop.

The differen't levels of vortech are differen't designs and power levels. I recommend at LEAST the V2-SQ (its the new design entry level, you can get it S or SQ, the SQ is quieter at idle). If you plan on staying with the stock shortblock get the V2 S or SQ, if you plan on rebuilding the engine get the T trim, its a little more money but has more power potential.

stangy004- The KB systems use an air to air intercooler underneath the blower. It fits under the blower where the intake manifold used to be, and the blower pushes the air thru it, and then into your engine. It is connected to a pump and what is baisically a radiator which flows fluid thru the intercooler, then out to the seperate radiator to use air to cool it off.

mdvaldosta is now on his third year with is 3650 after supercharging. He is constanly drag racing the car at the track, and powershifting, and its holding up.

I don't recommend that, but if you avoid real hard shifting it should hold up for quite some amount of time.

on the other hand, I broke 2 45s with 280 WHP...

MD was even running slicks with a built 8.8 rearend, so I think with drag radials and not going crazy with powershifting you should be fine for awihle.

Anything can happen, but the stock trans should not have any problems taking that power level.
