Can this be true?
On my way home from work today, I encountered this Prowler. It had some chrome parts, big shiny wheels, aftermarket exhaust, and bright *** orange paint scheme. Sad thing it was a guy prolly like in his 50s and his boyfriend. So Im minding my business, when he rolls up to me and guns it to act like he was racing me. I couldnt proceed b/c there was alot of traffic. So eventually we get caught up at a light and his boyfriend asked me if my car was fast. Light turns green, they take off like a 'rocket', so I giddy'd up. By the time I got to third gear I was like half a car length ahead. He was so ashamed that he turned off on a side road. Are those cars really that slow? I know they have a V6 with like 250 hp, or maybe this one was slow b/c it was a auto?

They made them from 1997-2002 with no 98 model.
This was the available powertrain, so unless they've done some massive HP increase with mods. You should have beat him easily.
Powertrain Options and Availability
A 214-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine propelled the original Prowler. When it returned for 1999 after a year's absence, a stronger (253-horsepower) version of the 3.5-liter V6 went beneath the hood. All Prowlers have a rear-mounted 4-speed automatic transmission with Chrysler's Autostick manual-shift provision.
ohc V6 3.5 Engines Size liters / 215 cu.in. / 214 HP / 221 TQ / 4-speed automatic
ohc V6 3.5 Engines Size liters / 215 cu.in. / 253 HP / 255 TQ / 4-speed automatic

Problem is, they look sweet to me, but have no ***** to back em up. they weigh like 2838 for curb weight, so yeah they're going to rocket down the road easily. But no problem, let em get us off the line, but be prepared to be trampled by our mustangs, giddy up

RE: Can this be true?
I've driven a few that were traded in the dealership i work at and they were fun to drive but certainly not fast. I have seen a few at car shows that were turbo'd or supercharged but i've never seen any numbers like that. I'd imagine they would haul nicely with a turbo.
