Default Oil change shop

Ok, I have decided that before anyone is hired at an oil change (Or any type of shop for that matter) should take some sort of test of their general knowledge of cars. I just got back from the local Penzoil 10 minute oil change center. While they were changing my oil, they asked me outside and was making general chit chat about the car. I got asked like twice, while looking at the engine, "What size is it?" Is it not common knowledge, the size of a Mustang GT engine? It was obviously stock...

Then, I mentioned my CAI, and the kid was like "What does it do, just take the place of an air filter?" He didn't even know that there was an actual filter included, just thought it was a tube running into the fender.

These people work on cars for a living...granted, I didn't have any problems with the oil change/new fuel filter they did, but common...

Which reminds me, I think I had the ORIGINAL fuel filter on my car. It was disgusting, and the fuel was filthy when you poured it out. My car has 60K miles...that makes me wonder if the previous owner did anything to it except put gas in and drive. She does run a lot smoother now!

Its not about the work, its about the mess. If I had a house with a garage, I wouldn't mind. I have a townhouse, with a parking lot. I think for the next change I'm just going to take it to the stealership though.

Ehh you can get away with an oil change in a parking lot. Just use some ramps or a lightweight jack and jackstands. You don't need much tool wise.
