Default Diablo tuner question

i just bought one and it is in the mail and i have a few questions...

1.) What kind of power gains should i expect?

2.) Will it be easy for my to use it even though i am not too good with all the air/gas mixture and timimg and all that ****. Does it tell you how t tune your car to the best spot?

I'm actually going to be installing mine tomorrow, BUT from what DiabloSport says, expect up to 20 rwhp. I'll see if that feels like the truth when I download that puppy. As far as worrying about the a/f ratio and timing, IMO I would download the tune "as-is" at first and then if you want to do adjustments, especially with the a/f, go to a good shop with a dyno and have them dial it in for you. And if the instructions aren't lying, all you have to do is plug the tuner into the OBD II diagnostic port, wait until it backs-up your original tune, select Performance Tune, then Diablo Tune, then Install Tune and let the little tuner do the rest. VOILA!! Now you've got MORE POWER!!!

yup that's how easy it is.. I've done mine in late july, and I am still running the diablotune, until I find time and money to get it finetuned at JDM by my house.... alot of people say the X-CAL is better than the predator, but I'm liking mine just fine!

Don't expect any sort of hp gains, because if you do you will be dissapointed. The tuner is primarily for tweaking the car's computer so that the vehicle performs as good as possible. If you get any hp gains, that's just icing on the cake.

Well, there definitely is that SOTP difference. I downloaded the tune this morning and the difference is very noticeable. I find myself not having to go further into the pedal than I usually would. The shifts come in much quicker and low end response is amazing and chirping the tires in between the shifts is pretty much a piece of cake. I haven't had a chance to test out the higher rpm range (CPD tends to get a little upset at people doing that on the street) but I'm going to take it out on the expressway to check it out.
Big thumbs up for the Predator...

Good to hear you like the tune. I too enjoyed the extra kick, especially at WOT.

It sure is a sweet feeling. It'll be even better when I get some 4.10's installed.[sm=gears.gif]
