the stock 3650 tranny should be able to handle a supercharger. the stock clutch...will not. you will pretty much definitely need a stronger clutch.

Hey matt,

I have a powerdyne at 6psi, the install is easy and painless with the exception of the manual the pictures suck. I am awaiting a tune and I do feel the difference even with out a tune. You are going to get plenty of negative comments and good ones too. Do your research well.
If you are going with powerdyne look it up on ebay or powerdyne themselves, I got mine for 1600 dollars. Good luck and congrats on making the desision on supercharging your stang.

Rob
The problem is that you don't have a modular with a powerdyne and just bought/installed yours so you really can't give advice yet. The early PD was just a 5.0 blower turned around instead of redesigned like Vortec/Paxton (reverse rotation) etc and this causes some major restrictions in the flow path. Just look at the tube coming into and out of the blower in the 4.6 kit and you will see.
The blower will work fine as long as you except it for what it is...a very mild street blower with not much potential. You will gain @ 50-60 hp from it and its not really upgradeable. I looked at this blower as an option and chose the FRPP kit instead.

I don't know anything about Powerdyne but I have heard alot of negative stuff about them.. Again, thats just what I've heard..

If I were you I'd look into Procharger or Vortech.. I'm guessing they are more expensive than a Powerdyne but face it.............. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR... You go cheap and don't get the #'s your looking for or the install is a nightmare you have only your self to blame..

Just my opinion

I did do the research and ended up very far away from a Powerdyne.

Tranny should handle a S/C but the clutch will only last so long. Put in a clutch that is rated for the power you'll be making.

I have a ProCharger but will not try to tell people to buy one. I made my decision based on my goals and usage. If anyone wants to know my thoughts about a centri I'll share them. Both style and brand of blower is a decision best left to the one spending the cash. Bottom line: buy one, any one, just as long as you'll be happy with the results.

i have been looking at vortech and procharger. i am looking for a good setup for daily driving and bringing to the track once in a while. this is not gonna be a race car just some extra power when i need it.also my dad and i will probably install it, is it safe to install without a tune? i have to drive it about 20 miles to the shop to tune it, is that ok? one more any clutch reccomendations?
