Poser in GT

RE: Poser in GT
Ok, I met this guy around my area the other day. He seemed like an ok guy, I talked to him for a bit. Hes on another website that I go to and just happened to bump into him. His car: A 99 GT with a shaker hood, cobra front and rear bumpers (With Cobra lettering on the back), and the real kicker, "Saleen" rocker decals.
It seemed like a decent car built up well, I looked at his Vortech s/c, he said its pushing 350 at the wheels, moderately impressive. But what a bastard of a car...

That is funny. If somebody goes all out to make a Saleen clone, I don't mind that but the half *** crap you see all the time is great.
Where to begin, you see this around here so much. I too don't care if you want to swap a bodypart or something, hell I want a Cobra front clip for my GT (no flat tag spot and round driving light slots look much better) but the car will always have GT badges on it. I did change my badges from the 4.6GT to the more plain GT from a 2001.
Around here though I have seen:
silver 99 V6 w/ '00 Cobra R rear wing and that is all lol.
yellow 96 V6 w/ '00 Cobra R rear wing and badges.
numerous GT's with Cobra snakes and/or SVT badges (this one is soo stupid, I have never understood it)
numerous V6's with Cobra snakes and/or SVT badges (even worse lol)
green '00 V6 vert w/ saleen horse vinyl and badging on both sides, BIG Saleen chrome decal on rear fascia, cobra snakes for emblems and one big exhaust tip!
My personal favorite. A neighbor who used to have a nice 2002 Mustang GT-R. He had the damn Nissan Skyline GT-R badges on the damn thing and used to tell people all the time it was a rare car, tha Ford only made a handful.
People are too funny.
I prefer the other way. I saw a Cobra (SN95) that had the correct rear fascia (when it said Mustang) and replaced the Cobra nose for the GT/V6. It did have a raised cowl on the hood, but alot of cars do. He then took the snakes and svt badges off and just put on the running horse. It looked very clean and with all he had added under the hood, it was a pretty damn good sleeper.

RE: Poser in GT
v6's always wanna be GT's
GT's always wanna be cobras...
its just how people are.
to add, not to sound to outragous. but saleens arent anything special. saleen just buys gt's, slaps a body kit on them, does some cosmetic crap, and alters some (few) perfomance parts. unless you get one of the few saleens that are actually supercharged... your buying an overpriced flashy GT
nothing impressive in my book.
EDIT: if you take the difference in price of the saleen, and put it into modding a gt, you will toast the saleen.
its all the namesake. and to be honest... the saleen name to me is that of "moderate" upgrades.
