Default Exhaust Installation

I just purchased SLP LM II cat-back. Will I be able to install it by just putting the back end up on ramps? (I know how to put it on, I am just wondering if there is some reason I have to have the weight off the axels.)

after you jack the car up

1. unbolt stock catback from stock h
2. cut stock catback where it goes over the axel
3. install the new catback and test fit the tips
4. tightn that sucker down
5. go rip it up

Is it okay to use ramps to elevate the rear end? Is there any reason that the axels can't have weight on them (clearance for sawing)?

It doesnt matter if there is weight on the axels, I put My LMII's on with a drive on car lift. should be no troubles. plus it is a very easy intall.

i just installed my exhaust last week and it took some time but you can do it. The hardest piece is the passenger side. Very tight fit and not enough room to work on. And like they said make sure you tighten that sucker down

You don't have to cut your stock exhaust " why destroy something that is saleable?" Instead, support vehicle from rear torque boxes (frame) support axle under pumpkin with jack, undo lower shock bolts, undo upper bolts on arms attached to rear. remove all bolts and lower rear out of the way (be careful not to overstrech your brake lines) remove stock catback from rubber mounts, remove cat pipe bolts, rotate and push exaust forward over axle, I can do one in 45 mins to an hour on the garage floor. After 5 times you get fast!
BTW, I got $150 for my stocker on E-Bay. (Not everyone hot rods their cars, and it's a nice setup for a six, I did one of those conversions on my son's six, they sound great)!!!

Whose gonna buy a 5 year old stock exhaust for anything more than 20$? The only place that may sell it is a recylcling place which then it doesnt even matter if its in pieces or not. Whoever is gonna pay $150 for a 5 year old exhaust needs their head examined. A brand new stock 2005 exhaust is going for like 110$.

Dont even **** around with it... any troubles at all cut that bitch off. It's not worth the hassle trust me. My bolts were seized into the H pipe and had to drill the bolts out.

I don't know if you know, but every Ford stock exhaust is made of 300 series stainless. After 5 years depending on climate, most still look perfect. I might be old school, I throw away nothing that can be re-sold. I must be doing something right, I could write a check for a new Z06 Corvette if I wanted to.
