Default should i?

my friend just got a '97 LT1 Trans am (don't know if auto or manual, but i'm pretty sure it's a manual), and here i am with my 02 manual GT. you think i should challenge him to a race or would that be losing on purpose?

You should race him! you may beat him, at the very least it will be a very close race.

it would be close but he would end up pulling away, it all depends on what mods that you have.

+1 what Randy says.. race him dude!!!

If you want to "cheat" a bit though make sure his car is full of his buddies (people are heavy! lol) and your car is just YOU in it. And make sure your tank is less than 1/4 full. Weight savings had just as much effect as added horsepower.

A Good running M6 LT1 car should do about 260rwhp (Give or take ~5rwhp)... At least from what Ive seen in the past 7 years worth of dyno sheets and reading i've done.

Race him. My brother has an auto LT1 camaro, and I beat him by 3 car lengths with the mods in my sig. Nothing like beating on your little brother. He later dropped his transmission while launching, so you could always fall back on him losing his tranny.
