Sorry i cant help with the light, but i would like to know something... After you cut the cats off, how did you keep the piping goin? Did you already have some exhaust piping to put in the cats place, or did u go to a shop and get it done? I wannt cut my cats, but still a lil sketchy on the piping afterwards....

sounds like the mils are bad
mine light always came on every 500-800 miles. I finally bought a tuner and turned them off......

Yea MIL's suck. I had my light go on like 50 miles after putting my o/r H on. I just kept resetting it until it finally stayed off.

Other than not passing emissions, the car will run fine with the CEL on?

It should run fine, but it is nice not to have the light on all the time... pretty soon you get use to it being on and neglect any other problems the light might be on for. The only sure fire way of making sure the downstreams never trip your CEL is to use a tuner to shut them off.

Everyone argues, but my experience is gas mileage drops, the car's throttle response feels sluggish and the idle is irratic.

I had crappy MIL's, mine worked for 2 weeks before they failed.

Some people's O2's actually burn up shortly after putting an O/R mid-pipe in and it actually wasn't the MIL's that failed.

I vote to save your cash for a tuner and solve the headache easily.
