I'm thinking of getting streetable cams on my 03' GT. After MUCH looking I actually found some for $520 (if you know of any that are cheaper for my car, PLEASE send me a link).

I need to talk to people who have them in their stangs! How much of a difference is it in Hp's? How much was it to install?

When you're talking Cam's, there's no way to say what kind of HP you'll get out of it without telling us which one you're going with. They differ from crazy wild HP and impossible to drive on the street, to your more mild sleeper cam that nobody knows what hit them till it's too late. That's the one I picked up for my car. I'd say the base model on a wide LSA would probably give you 20hp w/ matching torque. (I'm speaking from an LS1 world though, so take it w/ a grain of salt) Is the price you said for a whole cam package, ie rods, springs, retainers, and cam, or is it just for the cam? If only the cam, then I'd say you can find cheaper. At least I'd hope so. GL on whichever way you decide to go. Peace.

I've been looking at the price, and it looks waaay too expensive (much over $1000). I figure for the money, I'll go with a C&L Plenum and Accufab TB, pull out my Mac CAI and put in a full length densecharger with MAF, then put in Tokico struts and springs...that's just about $1000 (excluding installing struts + springs)...thoughts?

if you are going to spend the money on cams, you might as well do the heads at the same time. it will save you a little bit of money... you will get more hp with the combo as well...

VT rocks. I got my cams from them. Installation on cams will run in the neighborhood of $500+ though, and heads... well lets just say $1k+ - its an 18 hour job (by the book).

Cams are worth it if you can do it yourself or have someone help you that can do it.

I have the VT Stage 1's. Before the cam install my 01 GT made 251RWHP and 289RWTQ. After the install as well as the installation of a Superchips my car jumped to 284RWHP and 302RWTQ. I more or less have every other bolt on except for headers.

damn right dude... nice numbers... have you thought about some head work or even new heads... i hear the vt combo(heads/cams) is insane...
