a/c gauges

RE: a/c gauges
Its all held in by clips, the whole center console plastic is one piece and is tucked behind the bottom shifter bezel trim. First take off the shift **** so you can pull off the bezel. (You might not have to take the shift **** off though, you might be able to push the bezel out of the way enuf to get at the center console trim ). Take off the shift bezel trim by gently pulling up on it. Then once that is off you genly pry the center console trim towards you. Its easiest to do it in sections since there are a bunch of clips holding it in. It feels pretty flimsy when you are tugging on it, so be careful that you dont crack it.

IF your talking soley about the plastice piece on the ac controller itself (ie. the piece that says ac,vent, defrost, etc.) you can pull the three ac ***** straight off then punch in all the tabs around the outside of the unit. Becareful to do each tab a little at a tab as this faceplate does seem pretty brittle. BTW you do need to take the whole unit out of the dash to do this.
I did this on my 99 mustang cause some of the red part of the temp dial was really faded. Unfortunatly the 2001 ac unit that i got the faceplate off of is a different color green than the aqua color my old one was. Its cool though cause it looks alot better in the daytime than my old faded one did.
