RE: speeding
Oh, and after reading the Website, I was mostly there..
From jammerstore.com:
"Active Radar Jammers are illegal to use in the USA therefore Phantom RCD™ users are responsible for the Phantom RCD™ operation."
However, Passive RADAR Jammers (I believe the type that are triggered on only when RADAR emmissions are present) are not illegal...

RE: speeding
I know everyone thinks it is a cop conspiracy to convince you that these things don't work, but here is what my buddy explained to me. He is a county sheriff in CA. Since he has given me good "inside" information in the past, I trust him on this as well, as the science is sound.
A radar detector will only tell you if the cop let you go. The reason being that very few still use the ancient type guns where your detector can pick up when they are painting the car in front of you, giving you time to slow down. Most now will only go off if it hits your car.
So now it is a race. We'll use a laser as an example.
The cop fires at your vehicle, your detector goes off. You now have to slow down fast enough to change the return time of the reflection. A laser moves at the speed of light. This is already faster than the speed of sound which the noise coming out of your detector going to you ear moves at. Add on top of this the reaction time for your brain to process, your foot to move from gas to brake, the vehicle to actually slow down, and the bottom line is, your done. Still don't buy it? I can time with a wrist watch the time it would take you to drop 3mph after I arbitrarily yell "stop!" sitting in the passenger seat. Now sitting at home, try to time the amount of time that passes for the light in a light bulb to hit the opposite wall from the lamp. (yes, there is a time difference, we just cannot percieve it)
On top of all of that the officer is also looking at your vehicle. Ever wonder why he let the guy up ahead go by but pulls you over and you swear you slowed down in time? Its because he saw the front of your car drop like a brick when you punched the brakes, he knows you were over the limit on the gun, and now knows you were going even faster than that so you win the cupie doll.
His last tip, if you still insist on having one because everyone says "no, they work, the cop is full of it", take it out of the window when you get pulled over. It's a sure sign that you like to speed and your chances at a warning just went out the window.

i have the escort passport 8500 x50 it works well. I had the laser go off only once and it was so loud scared me half to death and i was just sitting at a stop light.
